I don't know how people do this for a living! I finished the "cake." From making the frosting to starting the dishwasher, it took me about 2.5 hours! As I suspected, the details of the pan did not show up well on the rice krispies treat "cake." I had to unleash my inner artist to frost it - scary thought, considering the inner artist has very little skill! My husband brought up a good point - it's going to be difficult to cut this thing. He suggested that I try again with regular cake and an egg subsititue, but this time baking the halves seperately. I suppose he's got a point. The part that sinks will end up being in the inside center of the cake, so I can just add extra frosting to those parts when I glue it together. If I try again with real cake, I most likely will not frost it again until the party comes! Anyway, here are the results.

Great looking cake, he should love it!

The real reason I am writing, however, is to congratulate you on your lifestyle choice. This is the first time I have seen your blog and your title/intro said it all for me. You have wonderful priorities and you will be greatly rewarded for choosing to stay at home and raise your child in a Christian fashion.

God Bless

Great cake Chrissy! I spent about 25 minutes tonight catching up on your blog. I had NO idea that you were returning to work. I feel aweful that since my return to work and now with 2 children that life is so hectic that we haven't had a chance to catch up. We are looking forward to the birthday party in March. Take care!!
