Melanoma Update

Todd got the pathology report back. The melanoma was not in any of the skin layers they removed during the wide excision on December 18th. This means they got it all when they did the original removal. The diagnosis of stage 1 melanoma still stands. PHEWWWW…that is my sigh of relief. I’m still not thrilled that he even had another melanoma, but if you are going to get it stage 1 is the one to get. Thank goodness the doctor noticed it and removed it right away.

He will not need further treatment. He will, however, need to be seen by the dermatologist every 3 months now. He was supposed to be going every 6 months, but that somehow made its way into once per year when we moved to NH. You can bet I won’t let that happen again. His doctor, who is new to him, seems pretty aggressive, so she won’t let more than 3 months go by either.
