The Heart

yeah, this is not a sentimental post at all. If you were hoping for one, today's not the day.

Wednesday night at the dinner table Todd said he had chest pain. A pain that was like someone pushing on his chest. Fabulous! I quizzed him, and he said he was fine. I told him that it was not unheard of for 35 year of old men to have heart attacks and he had better be sure he was truly okay. I also made a comment about the fact that I can't do this whole parenting thing on my own (applause to single moms out there that can).

I got home last night a little after 5:00 and he tells me he is having it again. I promptly put him on the phone with my Mom, a retired ER registered nurse. She was on the fence about him going to the ER, but thought it wouldn't be a bad idea. He got off the phone and decided that we should make the trip to the ER, which was the first sign that it must be bad if he is willing to go in for tests and open his wallet for the $100 co-pay.

We dropped Timmy off with my in-laws and jetted off. A couple of hours and a slew of tests later, he was released. The EKG did show one abnormality, but the cardiologist at Hitchcock was of the opinion that there wasn't any trauma to his heart. We left with instructions to follow-up with his PCP this morning, which Todd has already done. He had a 2:00 appointment to go over everything. I'll feel much better about the whole event after they run more tests.

On the up-side, when we got home my Mother-in-law had folded the laundry that was in the dryer, put a new load in the dryer and had done my dishes for me. Very nice and not at all necessary.

More updates to follow.

Chrissy!!!!ugh! it seems like one thing after another....If it helps at all every time I kneel at Mass to pray "the Fratzells" come to my mind first I had thought that I was praying for a healthy baby, then when I read about Todd's melanoma..I thought maybe that was why...now I read this...so I will continue to pray...the upside could be that it is nothing to worry about and you are getting all your family health concerns out of the way all at one time instead of spreading them out over the years?? maybe??
