PotLuck

Last night was Wednesday night dinner - here's the crew minus me, who loves to be the picture taker to avoid being captured on film.
I happened to mention that my new workplace is holding a potluck on Friday. Apparently, this is something they do once a month. That's fine with me, because, quite frankly, I look forward to trying things I would never normally try...and because I won't need to eat a frozen meal, which seems to be my lunch of choice. This happened to me several years ago, pre-baby, when I started doing WW at Work. Todd did it with me, so it became easy to take a frozen meal that had the handy dandy feature of the points calculated and written on the side. I continue this tradition, because it is easy to get myself out the door in the morning when all I need to do is grab a meal from the deep freeze before leaving. By no means should you assume that I am losing weight by eating these point friendly meals!

Anyway, I had another tangent (this is truly the way my mind works - sometimes it takes me several minutes to get back to the actual beginning thought and to finish it)...back to the subject at hand.
The question came up, "Why do they call it a potluck?" How the heck am I supposed to know something like that? I'm pretty sure my response was something very similar to that. It struck my interest, so I looked it up...guess what. Potluck is means exactly what the two words it is made up of mean. You take your chances or play your luck with what's in the pot. You never know what you are going to get; it could be fantastic or it could be nasty. Either way, it's a meal of chance.
This potluck at work tomorrow did not include a sign up sheet for salads, main dish, dessert...so it should be interesting to see what we get. In my dream world, it would be a table full of all desserts and a bowl of fritos at the end. I always need something super salty after satisfying my sweet tooth.
Given my dream world, I am taking my triple chocolate toffee cake. Maybe I should stop off and grab a bag of fritos to scarf in my office following the potluck. Would that be wrong?

Chrissy...I see 5 glasses of wine in your picture........did you have a rough day at work? :)

Nope - we were giving Timmy wine. Okay, I'm kidding. We drank red wine, then we drank a bottle of port. The port required smaller glasses. There were actually 8 glasses that night.
