Last night, after dinner, Timmy sounded a little rattly, so I gave him a breathing treatment. In order to get my 2 year old to sit still for a breathing treatment, the television goes on - last night it was Mickey Mouse, who happens to be my son's current obsession. There we were, sitting on the couch (well, me on the couch, him on my lap) watching Mickey Mouse when the breathing treatment. He wanted to finish out the episode - fine by me. I closed my eyes and took a tiny little cat nap while he sat on my lap and leaned his head against my shoulder. I awoke from my slumber to, "Mommy, more Mickey Mouse." Ummmmm....bath time?....sure, why not. I love on demand television! He watched another episode of the mouse while I dozed in and out. Again, I awoke to , "Mommy, more Mickey Mouse." My actual response this time was, "Do you want to take a bath or watch Mickey Mouse again?" When I asked this, I actually thought he would want the bath - nope! He said, "Mickey Mouse again." This time I did not sleep, but only because the phone rang and I talked to my Mother-In-Law for a few minutes. Because I was up, I got our after dinner drink of choice, milk, and pj's...then promptly sat down for more snuggling time. Todd came in from the yard work while we were on our fourth episode of Mickey Mouse! It's terrible, I know, for him to watch so much television...but the snuggling and quiet time with him was so nice, and the nap was heaven....

Guilty Pleasure
Wednesday night my agency had an agency wide annual celebration at a local mountain resort. It was a lovely evening. The only drawback was that I saw Timmy for 1.5 hours that morning, then nothing. That was pretty rough for me. I missed him with every ounce of my being. When I get that feeling, I am always a little shocked a little surprised. There are times when he does nothing but drive me crazy and all I want is a couple hours to myself. Then, when I finally get the opportunity, I can't help but miss him like crazy.

For Luke (5) I dvr Mickey Mouse and Handy Manny while he is at school, then he watches it while I get dinner ready!
I remember when I was pregnant with Jacob and feeling rotten. Hannah wasn't quite two, so I was her sole entertainment, of course. But then I discovered Dragontales on PBS, and I would play the same tape over and over for her just so I could sit on the couch and close my eyes. Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do in order to get what you need. In your case, it's snuggles.
At least it wasn't SpongeBob!!!
I LOVE those special moments!
Nothing wrong with a little TV! I love a good catnap/cuddle session in front of the tube. Glad you had a chance to chill out and grab some quality time!
